1. Guild Outing Sequel - The 2nd One

that day i was late. becos.. ? forgot liao. anyway took the train from Boon Lay to City Hall to Somerset. why was i late again?

[this is the part of the blog whr i elaborated on the deciding on which movie to watch, and pleasantly surprised by the realisation that Jefferson knows Korean. and also i have a bad memory of which movie we were actually watching until later when i walked in the cinema theatre during showtime. this is also the part whr i say Eugene has a SGD$100 note. need to make it more shocking than the fact that Jefferson knows Korean.]

[this is the part whr the party proceed to Ewf (everything with fries) and ordered set meals, fries included. Since Jefferson knows Korean, we had to have him explain to us wads "Har Jeong Kai", which more or less translates to prawn paste. need to make it sound more awesome that Jefferson knows Korean.]

[this is the part whr after a long time of eating/consuming food, while listening to some radio race thing and charity drive(?) Tay Ping Hui & Joanne Peh stuff was there (?), i/everyone had to play the leftover food..]

ya the one when we actually thought of watching a movie at novena then conveniently go to eat the bbq chong pang place, but actually ended up taking a bus we thought was correct but was not, and looping one whole big round to bugis, where we discovered the ground floor no longer sell tickets, but oh well, still got to see some movie Men In Black, and had the discovery of Ewf there as well, what a coincidence.

2. Guild Outing [a day to remember]

Kinda regretted that i took my time to post this cos my memories of it seem to be fading away quite fast. i remember that i was super hyped for that day. i got out of home early to visit the place and walk around. i remember it was the first time i had wore the white hoodie/shirt, it came to be one of my favourite shirts. i was walking alone in the crowd, waiting for time to pass. i love doing that, walking aimlessly with my ipod, looking at random things i might own if i had lots of money. things that i really have no use for, things i would just keep and never use.

why do people have so much free time shopping for stuff. it was some time later when jefferson told me he was late. luckily, i can revisit the shops and look at all the games...
the youngest one is on time. he is also the quiet one. quieter than me, how to change this. decided to look for a birthday cake, the cake we never bought -_-ll Nat is late!!! didnt notice when we started to have full strength. time for dinner.

japanese buffet, boring food with fun people eating. i should have ate more but didnt really felt like eating. before that, i didnt even eat lunch, i just felt thirsty. looking at people eating raw food, i wonder how it feels/tastes like, why didnt i try any. i dont know, im not used to the idea of eating raw food. confession : the gyoza was mine =P.

[it look me almost one hour to write this much, much of the time was spent chatting with jefferson.]

what i enjoyed the most was probably the muah chee: yam/green tea/peanut/red bean. the crabstick tasted kinda weird.. o_O i can remember having all the random unfinished food [secretly put them on another table] the squid was the most random one. chicken on stick ftw!! wont be eating that for some time.
all hope was lost when they announced they had ran out of stock of icecream. after much commotion [LOL], we got ourselves 6 glasses of red wine. my first thought : ok.. whos trying? Apple seems kinda excited. YL is like 'i drink before but dont really like it'. Nat was 'smells nice' [smells weird]. Jeff 'why no icecream'. hm.. i guess YX was thinking 'lol these bunch of weird people are drinking. GM cheat me. i gonna get scolded for being home late'
first try - bitter/disgusting/what-the-hell-why-am-i-drinking-this?!!
second try - still tastes disgusting
at least we have someone amongst us [Apple] who seems to be appreciating it. Like the rest, i cant believe i drank finish my cup. bitter to the max (X_X) had to gulp down more plain water to remove that weird taste from my mouth.

actually my initial thought was 'eh after drinking this, feel less sleepy. maybe drink abit more to keep myself awake'. at least i didnt sleep during the [nothing interesting happened] movie, which Apple was sleeping halfway through lol. when i walked out the cinema, was feeling kinda tired actually. After sending YX to the MRT station [hope he didnt get scolded], wanted for YL to eat his cake. but actually i felt sort of sleepy/drowsy/tired/shacked/exhausted and almost blacked out/fainted/collapsed. i dont think it's really the red wine. because the red wine was suppressing the exhaustion, after it wore off i felt the full blast of the exhaustion - legs felt like jelly, vision blurred/lost momentarily. luckily there was a medic nearby and he gave me what seems to be like magic water which made me felt better, and more thirsty. found a spot to rest at burger king. was told i was sleeping with my hood on and mouth opened. hope nobody stomped me!! was feeling much much better after i woke up from my nap/sleep/rest.

thoughts afterwards:
- why was i so tired
- quite stupid to drink red wine. shld have gotten red bull / starbucks coffee

basically thats what happened during the outing. was quite fun actually. except the encounter with red wine =0

4. You Mean There Was No Change? [everybody hurts someday]
recently i got a remark from one of my buddies asking me whether someone we both knew had changed. quite a random question.

it then made me think whether NS has changed me one way or another. last week just when to visit Comd office. apparently he wasnt in and one of his employees (also known as SSG Ken in the military) entertained us for a while. can see he's quite a defiant person, in a sense he doesnt blindly follow and will rebel if needed.
the point he brought up was NSFs shouldnt go around shouting ORD Lo!!. unless they have plans after leaving the service. after all, SAF has been taking care/feeding/accommodating you for the past few months, suddenly just leaving might leave you money-less ($_$)
actually when he was talking about all this blah blah a part of me was stoning about how being in NS can make a guy realize that there's more to life than we had initially thought.
quite hard to explain how NS has changed me. maybe when im older it will dawn on me.

anyways happy birthday to Ms Karen! entire section went to Swensens ytd to 'celebrate', more like finding a convenient excuse to go out camp for lunch and skip work. found that a new candy shop just opened in the basement of JP. it's those kind of expensive choc shop that looks damn nice but the things are too ex and sucky.

on the ride back to camp, the NSFs decided to ask random things about our boss's life [more like stalking his daughter] all kinds of stupid questions came out. found out his daughter is studying archaeology in Australia. then Nicholas asked "did she find any dinosaur?" HAHAHA! all the NSF were like laughing in the car. my boss didnt really care. he said 'no la'. then after he explain some things. i emphasised 'so she didnt find any dinosaur la?' then the whole day keep talking abt this dinosaur thing.

oh ya, i hvnt mentioned this but i [finally] bought a copy of the [legendary] Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2011 - Over The Nexus. super addicting. the only reason why i don't place continuously is mostly because of the duel runner race o_o , which can be quite challenging. actually i think because im a racing noob. so far im down to the last chapter and after that i'll start to build my [almost always sure win without fail but sometimes can't help it] Chaos Control Deck. =DDD

as always it's always good to run an aggressive deck in the beginning of the game. if i recall correctly, my beatdown deck uses the same cards, not excluding:

2 x Raigeki Break
two of my all time favourite trap cards.

actually today is someone's birthday. but becos my friend wanted to change duties with me, i didnt go out to find him.. feel quite bad cos i promised to go out with him, and i actually prepared the present already. but anyways we hvnt been in contact for quite some time already. don't even know whether he still remember me.
[btw as i'm typing, the keyboard im using now is like 100 times better than the one in my office. maybe can consider kope this and bring to my office =P]

considering when im putting aside time to organise my blog. kinda messy leh.

today feels so much better than yesterday. cough got slightly better, so i drank abit of orange juice =P hope i don't start coughing like crazy tml. somemore tml i duty clerk. today damn slack cos all the DXOs [my upstairs] all went to NSPC for meeting for the whole day. so basically did work in a slack pace.

today mood also generally better. cos of one of the things my friend said. on tues he took leave to send off his friend to Tekong. at the check in point where visitors need to show IC to gain entry, my friend took out his 11B and then the sergeant exclaimed "WTF, 11B?!! you like Tekong so much ah?!!" XP he also said the fishball noodle in the canteen quite nice. too bad recruits can't eat there, only the enciks go there eat.

if everyday like tat.

woke up early in the morning with the sore throat, couldn't really taste my blueberry jam, didnt drink any coffee, ran cross the road to catch the bus, was raining on the way out of JP, felt sorta guilty for cutting in front a corporal, throat damn try, drank alot of water which resulted in multiple trips to the toilet, computer lag and hang and crashed, had tons of work to do but no fast way of doing, cookhouse served roti prata which would have been nice if not for sore throat, stayed back in the office while almost everyone leaves, continue to do work with the lousy computer, finally got to go but missed last shuttle bus, took taxi with my superior to west mall, reached home with a stuffy nose and a dehydrated throat, and found out im 100% lucky today.

this is the 3rd week

one more week to vocation training then posting to unit. hope can get a place at Jurong Camp =P. still hvnt got any notice from CMPB regarding my temp PES status. so probably will go in Tekong in August and before that spend the time in my unit doing admin work?

the reason i didnt post in the weekend was because of security reasons. ok bullshit la. i too lazy to blog. weekend = spend time outside XD

so both days went to JP. saturday went to library, and bought a new watch. sunday went out to eat dinner with sec sch friends and bought new sweater =D by the way, HRI LT damn cold one.

the previous week were all lessons and watching war movies and more lessons and more war movies. GMK (general military knowledge) the whole week was damn slowww.. though i still managed to survive through it. and basically i slept during the war movies.

then this week continues the lectures.

BUT

today went to the airforce museum and the discovery centre. the airforce museum was *cough* *boring* *cough*. though i had fun with my platoon mates =D

did you know that OCS is in jurong? army museum in jurong? discovery centre in jurong? o_O ya all of these places share an area in some ulu place in jurong. PS i just knew jurong got all these things. thought jookoon there only got factories and industries.

i think the discovery centre was more interesting. i slept during some random 3D video screening. i must give credit to the guy beside me for not sleeping. i was like sitting there nodding off, some guy behind me even snored XP

it feels nice to book out directly from there. reached home earlier today. also went to the library to borrow a book. im currently learning how to speak cantonese.

oh ya during the weekend i found some program that generates pokemon into the gts and now im currently using half of my dream sunny day team.

lol nonsense actually i just finished the 1st week of NS. so ya. for those who don't know [the bloody spammers randomly flooding my tagbox], i was posted to HRI @ Kranji Camp III near YewTee there. i'll be there for 4 weeks due to having temp PES E status.

date of enlistment: 5/4/2011

luckily my parents rechecked the time or else i would've been late for 1hr. just queuing at YewTee MRT station for the shuttle bus and i can already see all sorts of ppl. skinny/fat, tall/short, chinese/malay/indian/others.

lol actually the camp is quite near to the MRT station. so there i changed my pink IC for the green NS IC, which by the way has the picture taken at CMPB -_-ll. the oath taking was kinda random. and i actually found out there were also others from PJC posted there as well.

the food is ok i guess. like normal mixed vegetable rice lor. but i was seriously quite unprepared for the huge serving of food there. i' ve learned to ask for less cause i poured half of my plate down the bin. yeah waste of food but cannot finish how. NEXT TIME ASK FOR LESS. but of course they are ppl there who eat alot or damn fast. usually i'll slowly chew the food.

next was getting the barang barang. as non-combat soldiers, there is no need for a field pack. everything was squeezed into this big black bag. ok i tried typing down the things but i was too lazy to complete it.

finally cutting botak time. waited for a damnnn long time to get my hair cut. seriously i don't see what's the big deal of cutting botak la. honestly i feel much more comfortable with botak hair!! =P

ya basically tats what i did for the 1st day. got back home at around 7pm+ yes clerks can home go after office hours. tats a privilege la.

day2 is admin day, all the boring things stuff happen today. morning fill in all the forms and stuff. then lunch came!! ok this time i asked for a smaller serving and i ate almost all of it, at least 90%. then in the afternoon got talk by orientation officer (OO) which is some old guy who has served NS since he was 16. his english was er quite broken but still understandable. then next insurance talk by AVIVA. the guy even more vulgar than the officers and commanders. but at least that kept ppl awake for most of the time. end of day2.

day3 the most slack day yet. in the morning got lecture from Captain Pang. the SAF 7 core values are:

at least he didnt like go through the prepared 1000+ slides. i would have died listening to so much nonsense. after the 3-4hr session there, it was once again lunch time. ok that day fail, threw away quite abit of food. wasted sia. but i tell you wads more wasted.

sitting in a lecture hall for many many hours talking cock. at least i got to rmb some of the names. just sat there talking nonsense, listening to jokes, laughing at the vulgarities. this is PES E BMT = slack.

day4. inoculation day. got jabs on both arms and an oral one. walao the medic didnt tell me to close my mouth after taking the serum. then after they apply the serum, i hold my mouth open like some idiot until another medic told me i could close my mouth. this all happened in Kranji Camp II which is a separate place from my training camp. so for the first time i went into a tunnel [tat how you spell it?] it's actually just an army truck la.

lunch time! today eat laksa which im not especially fond of.. even though i asked for less, it's still alot and i didnt really feel like eating so i threw away half of the bowl. waste. most agree today's laksa suck. but i don't really think it's bad la. im picky in the first place.

movie time! but war movie which i didnt even get the story of. maybe it's because i didnt drink coffee in the morning. also the aircon was sibei cold.

so tats the first week of PES E BMT @ HRI. basically i think the ppl there are quite nice, though vulgar also. almost every sentence had a vulgarity in it. well i don't really mind it. as long i don't get influenced by the swearing, i should have no problem with it.

i think the worst part of the camp is lunch time. aside from the long single queue, there is also the huge quantity and on top of that, there is rush for finishing the food, which of course i didnt finish. WASTE!! and today damn stupid cos laksa alot of ppl like me didnt drink the soup so they just dump the whole thing into the bin. imagine a bin full of laksa soup and leftovers noodles. and then i saw a bird just perched on top of the bin and when it flew away the laksa soup just splashed out la. seriously disgusting.

even though i got to slack in the air-conditioned lecture hall and get to go home every night, this will probably change when i up-PES after the 4 weeks are over. maybe i'll go Tekong and participate in PES B BMT. meanwhile im just enjoying my time in HRI and making new friends everyday. =D
